About the event

Painting Country, Painting Me

An 8-week art journey led by Wiradjuri artist Rebekah

Let your child discover the joy of creating, learning, and storytelling through art in this unique homeschool program blending cultural richness, self-expression, and creative exploration.

Painting Country, Painting Me is a warm, inclusive 8-week art program designed for homeschoolers aged 6–12. Each week, children will explore new artistic techniques — from drawing and painting to mixed media and symbolism — while being gently guided through storytelling practices inspired by Indigenous art, surrealism, and their own imaginations.

The program is led by Rebekah, a beloved mixed media artist and proud Wiradjuri woman. With Elder approval, Rebekah brings cultural depth to each session, introducing young artists to meaningful symbols, the importance of Country, and the beauty of telling stories through shape, pattern, and colour.
