What to expect
from your Painting Classes
you’ll be guided through core acrylic techniques while also exploring more expressive, less conventional methods to bring your paintings to life.
Whether you’re completely new to art or have painted before, this course will deepen your confidence, creativity, and technical skill — all in a warm, relaxed studio setting.
You will learn techniques like Scumbling, Acrylic Skin Collage, Dry Brush, Acrylic Glazing and Impasto Knife.

Meet Your Art Teacher
Meet Sarah – skilled fine artist, designer, and creative all-rounder at Wangaratta Art School.
With a Bachelor in Communication Design (Fine Arts focus) and Cert IV in Design, Sarah is trained in oils, acrylics, pastels, mixed media, realism, and sketching.
She brings technical precision and warmth to every class she teaches, inspiring students across styles and skill levels.
Sarah will be teaching the 102 class.
Meet Your Art Teacher
Meet Izzy – award-winning artist and acrylics teacher at Wangaratta Art School.
With a calming, creative energy, Izzy brings expertise in painting, printmaking, sculpture, and jewellery design.
She leads our Wednesday Acrylics classes and upcoming Seniors Socials, and holds a Cert IV in Visual Arts, Cert II in Art, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
Izzy will be teaching the Acrylics 103 class.

Is this suitable for someone with additional support needs?
Yes. Our sessions are inclusive, calm, and can be adapted gently.
Can I use my NDIS plan?
We’re happy to provide invoices for self- or plan-managed participants.
Can I drop in and see the space first?
Absolutely. We know how important it is to feel comfortable before starting something new. You're welcome to visit the studio, meet one of our artists, and get a feel for the space — no pressure to book.
